How accurate is your speedo?????

I drive a quite a few cars as I do a bit of work delivering cars from dealers to customers all over the UK.

I therefore use the old Sat Nav quite lot.

I find that most cars have a tolerance of about 5% at 70/80mph in terms of speedo reading v. sat nav reading.

The Alfa (fitted with standard size wheels and tyres) overeads by about 10% at this sort of speed.

Has anyone else found this?

Regards all

Most cars overead.Take into account cornering affects readings and the fitment of different tyre sizes and tyre wear can alter input to your speedo .Manufacturers must allow for variations.Gps is accurate probably the system of the future.Eventually you can get fined for being 1 mph over the speed limit when gps becomes the norm.Eventually the system will follow you to your home to know where to send the ticket!!
