I have a big problem!!
In a nutshell I bought a spider a month ago and drove it down to Spain with the intention of putting it onto Spanish number plates.
The car is a one owner car, bought in Amsterdam in December 2000 and imported into the UK in January 2001.
The issue is that the chassis number is not stamped on the suspension turret, Alfa Romeo in Spain are refusing to do this for me as the engine number is not shown in the Certificado Di Conformita CEE, the Certificate only shows the engine type ie AR32301, my understanding (although I could be wrong) is that the Certificate never shows the actual engine number.
I have the engine number, its also shown on the supplying dealers invoice, but they are refusing to look at this.
So I'm stuck with a car that at the moment I can not get registered in Spain.
Any ideas anyone!!
If I drive the car back to the UK can I have the number stamped on?
Any advice is welcomed.
Thanks in advance
