So I'm looking into a cambelt timing change - and should I also do the balancer belt?
Its a 147 2.0L Petrol T-Spark 2001.
Last belts change April 2009 at 78659;
Balance Belt Tensioner,
So just 6 years ago this April and Mileage is 89850.
The thing is I went travelling for 4.5 years in this time and the car looked after by my Dad just 'turned over' now and then.
Been happily driving it and maintaining it for the last 2 years but not done the belts as yet.
I thought there was a 90K service to do but just read it's 96K.
Anyway my question is please -
How crucial is it to change the timing belt (balancer aswel?) now considering the mileage it's done on it and physical age of the belts rubber considering it was idle for 4.5 years?
