... In the end
I keep telling myself at least...
Had a day scrubbing, cleaning and de-fag ashing the interior of the new GTV today. Some really grubby stains on the headlining now gone, and spots all over the carpet. Seats out job, just to make sure I reached every nook and cranny I could.
Now 100% better, even if I do say so myself
Leather also de-grimed (actually to be fair, the seats weren't too bad) and balmed, now a much nicer looking and smelling place to sit.
Just thought I'd have a quick look at the paint work (had a quick wash last night to get rid of most of grime) and it's not in great nick, mostly fine scratches but a few grazes here and there.
Polished the boot lid by hand and it's come up ok, so will be takling the rest of the panels tomorrow hopefully. Really do need to invest in a DA polisher
One area that looked really bad was the exhaust. (after market one with a tail pipe absolutely covered in rust)
Daubed kurust a plenty, then attacked it with wet and dry, a quick blast of autosol, and it doesn't look half bad.
I was going to replace it, but now I reckon with some time and proper elbow grease it will be ok for now.
I'll post some pics when I'm happy with it. Should have taken some 'before' shots, but frankly I was a tad ashamed of it ... Not for long though, the old girl has some life left in her
