People have different outlooks on cars. Bet you the punters over on Audiowner.com are laughing about how ridiculously unreliable our cars are and only idiots would buy one. It's all about personal perspective.
I love Alfa's, the way the look and the way you feel when you look at it from the outside and how you feel on the inside when driving it. But lets face it, they're not the most practical, reliable or responsive cars in the world are they? You could buy a 156 GTA in saloon and sportwagen no? Whats the difference in your mind between that and an RS6 or R36 bar the cost difference? One's a saloon/estate with an Audi/VW badge, the other is a saloon/estate with an Alfa badge.
Being able to use the power of your car is irrelevant. If that was the most important thing, we'd all be driving around in cars no bigger than a 1.6, as it's not needed. But if you can afford an 85k sportscar, then who's to say they can't afford to run it round the nurburgring or on a private track day?
I absolutely love Alfa's, definitely my favourite marque of car, but the snobbery from some of the owners is just plain daft.
