Idea CAMBELT CHANGE REQ - Recomended Dealers in Dorset (Bournemouth)

Hi, l have brought a 98 -GTV with no history to say that the cambelt was replaced other then the owners word, the car has done 79k with service history upto 42k.

l am concerned and would like the cambelt cahnge for my own peace of mind - can anyone recomended a dealer in Dorset prefferably nr (Bournemouth). And would l be right in thinking 500 is fair assumption on such worked to be carried out!?

Look forward to any reply's!

Many Thanks.

Itallian Car are the main independants (01202 660678) and Westover Alfa are the main dealers

Ive been using Italian Car Spares on the Nufield estate in Poole for the past 3 years for my 147 and the other half's Stilo. Gordon the main man certainly knows his stuff and doesn't cut corners. Labour rate is reasonable and will go over the car with a fine tooth comb for you.
Recommended if you want someone who talks straight and knows what they are doing.

I've heard that Red Motori are pretty good as well. Only a little way out of Bournemouth. Sure someone else will be able to give their experience.

lol@ Italian Car Spares in Nuffield Ind Est Poole.

Last time (3years ago now ) I went took my Spider there and some spotty face embryo of a "mechanic" tried telling me I needed a new AirBag ECU due to my Airbag warning light was on and it was impossible to re-set it.
Laughable I drove to the maindealer and it was done without hassle or issue - mechanic i spoke to was cracking up too!!!

I hope they have changed mechanics, Gordon Skinner the owner is okay , but he isn't doing the actual work.

Personally I recomend S & H Auto's (01202 680660) also on Nuffield Ind Est in Pooole, never had any problem with them very thorough , am also going to try out Alfamotive (01202 861699) in ferndown soon

Laurence at Autolussso (aka Alfamotive) is the guy I would use. He has done a lot of work on my Spider and it runs sweet. This was tested on a 2100 mile 6 day road trip in Europe.

Go to a recommended independant specialist, not a main dealer. I had a V6 belt and pulleys change for 320 against the dealers quote of over 900 ...
