Rear wheel bearing - stuck
Been trying to pull the rear wheel bearing/hub off the stub axle this afternoon, having read on other threads that they can just 'plop' off. Not mine. With the backplate in place there is only very limited scope for encouraging it with a hammer & drift but I did move it slightly so that it would go back & forth about 5mm by hand but then I was out of time, had to put it back together for a school run.
Not having a puller is it ok to take the backplate off and hit it harder - any chance of doing damage?
