I've just sorted a similarly annoying "leak today not tomorrow" issue on my V6. turns out it was the hose that runs from the engine to the heater core, well not the hose, actually the pipe that the hose fits to had corroded and swollen so no seal with the hose and it would squirt water out every now and again. Cleaned the part up but the hose was knackered and the problem being that it's a really annoying hose to replace as it starts wider than it is, kinks and then runs off to the heater core which is somewhere hidden behind the dashboard. An extra clip did not manage to help either so there was no other option but to chop it and made a kink and reducer out of several segments of copper fittings, joined the wide end with a segment of hose to the engine and then connected the remaining heater hose to the thin end of my DIY "kinked reducer". Looks quite smart with its heavy duty jubilee clips and seems to work a treat not to mention I've learned a new trade along the way!
