Curious engine symptoms

Occasionally getting the following on a Phase2 V6:
Injector light comes on at start up, engine idles normal revs freely but on initial take off upto about 2k rpm there is a lack of power - needs clutch slipping then after 2k rpm its OK. Noticable in other gears at change too. After a while the light goes off and all returns to normal. Doesn't happen every time either.
Any suggestions?
dodgy maf/connection?
coil pack failing? (idle OK not lumpy)
water in a connection?
anything else?
Did an ecu reset/throttle body reset to no effect (other than generally a bit livelier but always the case after a reset)

MAF would be my first port of call. The connection especially!

Symptoms arethere almost every journey - set off everything fine, after 5-10mins ignition light comes on (sometimes after a bump or sharpturn suggesting a connection problem) and then no power below 2000 rpm - requires clutch slip to get car going - throttle response under no load is VERY slow too. After another 5-15 mins the light will go out and engine retunrs to normal.
I've checked connections.
I've hooked up to alfa diag - it shows both lambdas have a sensor heating fault. The output from lambdas looks OK in alfadiag MAF out put looks OK. Haven't tried alfadiag with fault light up
The fault code does say that engine light NOT switched, which is weird, suggesting a different problem?
