Says it all really. The Alfa 147, despite it's age is really the only mass production Alfa likely to give the Focus RS a run for it's money in a real world situation. Despite peoples thoughts of a Focus RS being for "boy racers" only, many don't realise the sheer depth of cutting edge technology in that car. The focus has less torque steer than my standard 147 2.0 had, seriously! I highly doubt there's many 17-25 years olds driving around in one of them due to the huge insurance and running costs.
I don't get this whole culture of ford bashing, they have an extremely impressive racing heritage and the Focus RS is just the latest in a long line of ground breaking cars.
Is it not possible to love the performance of a fast ford and the feel and experience of an Alfa Romeo? Guess I must be a freak of nature then.
I thought I was alone in "Ford Bashing", I certainly didn't feel I was part of a culture of it.
Back in the day I got cut up by every rep in the midlands, in their Fords, god knows where BMW get their reputation from, they aint a patch on the ignorant (Ford) drivers I encountered in my early days of driving
Thebn there is the way that every (almost, sorry got carried away) Ford Focus owner thinks his car is just a tiny step down from the fire breathing models above them in the lineup
All that aside if you like your Ford, enjoy it
just don't ask me to like it
Oh and the racing heritage, in the states there was a racing ban, which every manufacturer agreed to, and every one but Ford stuck to it, which is why the Cobras trounced my beloved Corvettes in the sportscar racing over there
