Engine cuuting out v6

Has anybody had this before??

My dad kindly changed my slave cylinder for me, so I thought as he has helped me out with the car so much I would let him use it for a while, anyway after he had done a whole seven miles when he called me to come and tow him because the injector light had come on and the engine had cut to idle only with no throttle response.

The only thing he disturbed ( limited knowledge by myself here ) was the " sensor " on the right of the air intake manifold, I have not had a chance to look at this yet but he say's their is a gear inside but it has no obvious correct position.

I realise this is a pretty vague description but if anybody has any advice it will be appreciated.

Car is a v6 by the way.

That sounds like the throttle position motor.

If you can see a "gear" of any descripion then it sounds like it must be in pieces. Whoops.

I had no throttle response once when I forgot to plug the throttle position motor plug back in though so hopefully its just that.
