Below is an e mail I sent to a fellow AO member, who was interested in the car but needed to get cash together etc. I have messaged him again though goin into 'trader this week. I think it's a fair price.
it would be far to come though you'd know you were getting a well looked after 2001 example!
full alfa and alfa indie service history with file of receipts from me and all previous owners (4 in all) under average mileage for year, just over 81k at the moment, though recon engine went in last month, only done 500 miles and is warrantied for a further 6 months/6,000 miles.
I have spent over £3.5k on this car in just over the last year, 12 months MOT this week with brand new front discs and pads and tax at end of Feb
Thing with this car unlike others are ALL electrics are working and there's only the bonnet release switch that's showing as open, though this is due to a lumpy catch - common problem though there's been more pressing repairs that have needed doing so it's fell down the list.
Leather interior is in good condition and all covers etc. have their original fittings and screws ( most people would give right arms for full engine covers, undretrays, fusebox covers etc) this car has unusual alfa 17's, though look alot better than the aerodail everyone has imho. The exhaust is to die for, one of the most expensive set ups you can get - could take that off and swap for standard system fitted and £500 cash - it's been offered!!!
I'm sure you've had a look at the pictures on my profile, only thing not there is starting of rust on the inner rear n/s wheelarch, easy/cheap fix, though again something that's fell down the 'to do' list and slight dent that can be pulled on the o/s rear, the bodywork on the car is in excellent cond. except for this - even have a spare n/s wing mirror if you want to fit it, to match the new drivers one some little bugger kicked off a few months ago - company sent me a n/s one instead of o/s at first and company told me to keep it!
I've been as brutally honest as I can be here, I'm sure if other alfisti were when selling their cars there wouldn't be as many gremlins in the cupboards for new owners!
Let me know your thoughts and be sure to have a good read through past posts to make sure any car you are buying has no 'hidden' history.
