I had a wonderful day today, I wanted to tell you about it and ask if you've had one similiar...
It started badly...My husband woke me up asking if I wanted a coffee at 6 this morning as he was already up ready to go fishing. I appreciated the thought, but not being woken up so early on a Sunday. I knew that ahead of me was a day of hard graft and I didn't want to be pushed into it just yet.
I dont know how much you have picked up from my threads/posts, but I do not wash my own car. In three years I have done it three times and the reason is I am RUBBISH, un-methodical, sporadic, and lazy. Missing bits, smearing bits etc. But today the task was waiting for me as my valeter hasnt been available.
So I spent three and a half hours cleaning, Chamois-ing and polishing my car. I must admit she looked very tidy and I was quite proud of myself. By this point it was about 2pm, and I was sure the day was over, finished as tired and achy as it had started. After a short break I set off to see my husband at the fishing lake, careful not to bound into puddles with my newly cleaned and very pretty Spider.
The inevitable happened, as I am a girly girl...I got cold and bored in an hour and headed for home. but then, but then! the sky, I noticed as I left the lake, was that beautiful Orange/Purple/Pink of the best of British Sunsets. Sod it, I thought, I'll take the girl for a spin.
And off I went, my mood lifting and lifting the further I went. I didnt go far, as its a week til payday and my funds are getting tight for petrol. But It seems I went far enough...
We've all seen them, the top gear films, A beautiful car, a beautiful scenery and a song that seems to pull it all together. Well here I was, my beautiful car, the beautiful sky, the open road...And Tom Baxter's Better suddenly comes on my stereo via the Ipod. It tied it all up nicely.
My day started with a frown, and a groan, a filthy car and a backache before I even started...but it ended, so much Better.
Have any of you guys had a day like mine, a drive like mine? I've had a few before, the open roads in the alps for one, but it was never quite right. Today just seemed to work out so perfectly.
