Hmmm I have a cat back Ragazzon up for sale as I wasn't planning on fitting it.
If it really does give 18bhp then I will fit it tomorrow and the neighbours can put up with the noise.
Having said that, maybe Alfa's original power output of 220bhp was a bit conservative?
The 164 24v Cloverleaf with an earlier version of pretty much the same engine gave 230bhp
If only. You could be right Simon in that the gains aren't 18bhp as I didn't do a dyno run as std. I am certain that it has given a gain though so definitely worthwhile especially as at some point the std parts will need replacing anyway. I did a bit of a search on here last week and most of the std V6's were making anywhere from 195-220bhp so I honestly expected mine to be at around 225bhp with the exhaust. Dyno's can be very contentious indeed and I am realise that on another different brand of Dyno it may have read 215bhp and on another 250bhp, the reason I chose this one was because i'd used it before with accurate figures and msgtv had used it a couple of weeks ago and got a consistent reading for his TS.
Nice result Jules, makes all that tlc worth it!
Absolutely. Might have a play around with the intake / induction and see what that yields next.
What do i win?
No prizes, but well done on the estimate
what will i see with a CDA and remap then? 275?
Precisely my thinking and the figures start to look ridiculous if you believe some of the quotes for modifications. At a base point of 238 (actual figure not that important but at least percentage gain per future mod can be measured.), what gains will intake, equal length downpipes and remap yield. I think realistically on my car another 15bhp. What dyno was your 251 recorded on? Would be good to have a dyno day so that we all have the same conditions and then have equal comparison.
Aren't dyno figures generally wheels? How do you make a 220hp engine put out 220hp at the wheels? Do you guys add a certain amount to compensate for drivetrain loss or something?
Not in the UK, most here like to see figures at the fly. Most Dyno operators will give you both, some are just generic calculation, some are coast down / brake etc. I didn't ask for an at the wheels figure but am sure it would have been measured there and calculated to give a fly figure as part of the software.
