Well lads as she sits in my driveway now she has exactly 100,000 miles on her!
I came across the car by pure accident. I had only been driving for about a year and I had a nice little 1.4 '00 Golf which was fine but then my girlfriend got a new mx-5, so I had a go in it, then got back into the Golf and I almost had a jaw breaking yawn, it was that boring!
Combined with the fact that I was only really driving the car at weekends I decided to get rid of the car and not replace it. But being a real car lover I said why not replace it with a coupe that nice and cheap. So I went to Car Ireland, Used Cars Ireland, New Cars, Buy Car, Classic Cars- Carzone
and did a search for coupe and sorted by price and was truely amazed that the GTV was so cheap. That was the start of all this!
At the time there were only 9 or so for sale ion the whole of Ireland and I really wanted a Rosso one with tan leather so that narrowed the list to 2. One was really over priced at 12,000 and the other was a more average 5k but was 2 years older and needed a big service and the paintwork was poor.
These were the only pictures that I had to judge it on
I mulled it over for a while took it for a drive and was then convinced, the true sign was when I passed a broken down 3 series! Buy what really pushed me over the edge was red lining it from 2nd into 3rd!
So I sought some advise from my fellow alfisti on here and looking back at the threads its obvious that I had already made my mind up:

Then had it looked at by a mechanic...ignored what he said and bought it anyway
All it really needed was a new wheel bearing and a respray! So rather than take these as bad points I turned them into bargaining chips and got her for €2,800.

Started going to a few meets then
Got her a new set of old wheels from rlaffey
Endlessly cleaned her
And more recently got her a new set of mats
And then yesterday after driving around the block a few times
she got to 100,000 miles and it coincided nicely with my 1,000th post
This is how she looks now
Sorry this was a bit boring!
I can't wait for the next hundred thousand and I hope everyone else is enjoying their Alfa as much as I have
