Well Happy Overvoltage Protection

I came across this on alfisti.net

For 11.20 @ unit price, it seems like a low-cost, low-risk addition; therefore a no-brainer?

Anyone installed one of these or had any experience?

It's a varistor, it's used to absorb spikes in your electrical system. Whilst a nice to have, a modern car shouldn't need this. But if you've fitted lots of accessories involving relays and solenoids in particular it will help to protect other more voltage dependent items. I've recorded -ve spikes of over 180volts on 12 volt systems, that can be cured with a very small diode!!
