Ramping up my alfa hobby in 2010 - GTV cam beltadvice
I've decided to get more hands on with Alfas in 2010.
A good friend of mine, (and ex alfa 33 P4 owner) and i were discussing alfa projects. He is interested in playing with a 75 V6, and i really fancy a GTV.
we are looking at tackling the GTV first, the plan is to buy a twin spark with a failed cam belt, and rebuild the engine. We are both competent home mechanics, and i have found a place that supplies all the relevant special tools for the GTV TS (totally alfa)
the one thing I am having trouble finding is a manual. are there any specific jobs that make the TS engine harder to rebuild than any other? i know the big end shells will need to be changed, but other than that are there any oddities to watch out for? how is access in the engine bay?
Between us we have collective experience of engine and trans rebuilds (he has done a couple of pug 306's I have built a Caterham 7 SV), as well as extensive bike rebuilds - my GPz 550 to an award winning standard.
anything I need to watch for, or are they relatively friendly to work on? my 166 V6 is not being sold BTW, the GTV will just be a summer fun car / learning car.
Be judged for the man you are, and the actions of your life, not the book you read or the statue you pray to.......
Never hold a grudge, its a sign of a small, petty person.
