I've had a look at the many previous posts regarding cambelts but have had no joy. So here is my question.
My 2001 2.0 TS sometimes has slightly squeaky belts on start up which soon stop, but having just had an oil change today at a local (non Alfa) garage the mechanic reported back a potential 'idler/tensioner fault' which he said he could hear.
I'm unsure how seriously to take this report considering the garage was not a specialist. Any thoughts?
The cambelt and tensioner will be due in June next year after 3 years. Could any noises being heard be an indication of impending failure?
many thanks for reading,
