There is a switched live that comes on with the ignition.
Hmm, mine must be odd, i removed the crappy stereo (that didnt turn off with the ignition) that was in when i bought the car (cheap as chips cd player - thought it could just be a case of being connected up wrong) and fitted my alpine CDA-9853R. now the plugs have 2 wires red and yellow, red being swiched in normal iso cars and yellow being permanent live, now in the alfa BOTH these wires in the plug are permanently live?!?!?
where is the best place to pick up a swiched feed from? the Cigarette lighter (as mentioned earlier) which i presume is where the parrot kit takes its switched feed from
just checked thru the GTV repair manual found HERE
and it says the radio has a uninterupted start/run supply (ignition switched feed) but doesnt say where it goes, just says radio, and the fuse is called "services" now is this particular manual correct for a 2000 GTV or am i just being somewhat stupid?
failing that the only thing i can think of is that the ignition barrel is fubar'd and in that effect my windows should work with no key also
no mention of dippy brake lights on the list yet?, if i feather the brakes there are no lights, if i push hard they work! need to have a look at this asap as i dont want my new motor rear ending!
