Buy?....Buy.....Me? No chance earthman....Its about £3ks worth of kit and I borrow it from a lovely guy called Chris Mason at Rilla Mill garage near me. We specialise in servicing and Classic restoration. And I mean proper servicing. eg we check and grease hinges, use new sump plug washers every time, flush engines, re-pack bearings etc etc. I am not at all "Techie" so when it comes to the diag stuff I rely very heavilly on Chris and occasionally Russ at Smiyaka (They build mentalists cars out of Mitsubishi GTOs - Russ's own car develops around 650 bhp FFS)
I love alfas but when anything electrical goes phut I am a bit lost....But I am learning.
I did start a thread to see what sort of business we would get if we went a bit more "Alfa" on the South West forum but we had so little response that I probably won't pursue it. We have a few regular Alfitsi clients and will do brakes, servicing , suspensions, etc and I us an old fashioned multimeter for stuff like MAF fault -finding. We keep our clients because we service what needs to be done and do it properly. We dont just print off a service sheet and tick boxes. If a steering wheel is squeeking we fix it etc etc.
And I am as tight as a gnats chuff when it comes to buying stuff that I can borrow!
