Speakers - Tweeter Wiring
I'm trying to sort the stereo at the moment and begining to think that 50% of the reason the std item sounds c%$p is that the wiring is back to front and totally different to the manual!
Anyway, I'm trying to discern which is positive and which is negative for the front tweeters... now the manual only talks of red, white, pink and purple wires, which is correct (ish) for the main door speakers but the tweeters have different colour wires!
They are the same both sides... there is a solid light blue wire and a darker blue wire with a yellow stripe - the question is, which is positive and which is negative?
There are no markings at all on the standard tweeter, the only thing that could give any clue is that there is a capaciter or filter of some kind soldered to one of the connectors which I guess is to filter out the low frequencies which could damage the tweeter. I don't know enough to say whether this would be wired to the positive side or the negative side though?
So, any ideas, can anyone truly say, no guessing, which is positive and which is negative?
