I recently started to suffer all the MAF related symtoms.Idle all over the place,running lumpy,flat spots etc etc..it got to the stage where the car would cut out at every junction.Then it got so bad the car struggled to even start.So I disconnected the MAF and it ran much better.
I got a new MAF from Alfaworkshops-TRUELY EXCELLENT service from these guys.Ordered it at 5pm,it was at my front door at 8am next morning,genuine BOSCH part at very fair price.
Fitted MAF and bingo,she sat beautifully at 800rpm.
Also got Motormech in Brum to delete any error codes from the ecu that may have logged into the unit from a faulty MAF and also from disconnecting it.
Car now runs tip top...except when I pull up at lights/junctions and the idle hovers around for about 10 seconds before settling.....staring to annoy me now.
Other than this she runs beautifully..so why does this hovering of the idle still occur??
I have checked all air intake pipes for leaks so I'm thinking throttle idle control valve??
