gtv service/garage bills

having taken stock of 2 parcels today ready for my garage visit wednesday, i added my parts reciepts to the mountain of paperwork history that came with my car. i flicked through a few of the bills and then realised that i had in my hand over 14k worth of bills, service reciepts and some for big figures.

My biggest bill was on a diff failure rebuild on my previous v6 totalling 1150. but flicking through the history on my current car its a scary thing.

a few early reciepts for a place called automotive services in dunfermline.

june 04 basic service 460
sept 04 new meta fob 145
jan 05 rear hub discs & pads 260

then it gets costly jan 05 1900 ( tyres x 4, rear caliper, maf, lambda, service, rear discs pads, plugs, 2x flexis......

may 06 1000 maf again, spring arms rear x 2 flowmeter??

june 07 240 wheel bearing ( needs doing again)

sept 07 2490 discs pads all round, handbrake, full exhaust, pillars ( siezed top mount adjusters both sides, undersealed car, and mot.

april 08 1150 powerflex rear, split airhose, another maf, another lambda, 60k service.

oct 08 350 suspect wheel bearing was mis shaped tyres, 2x replaced, front arms and droplinks, cv boot, heat shield,

dec 08 340 caliper spring, cv boot again

feb 09 790 belts, tensioners and so on as timing was out (also replaced failed water pump)

all this and minor services 4 sets more of tyres, more alarm fobs, another maf, bulbs, exhausts,

and now my turn to add to the list gta clutch conversion, wheel bearing (or tyres) front arms for the 4th time in its life....

this seams alot of stuff for a 99 t plate with only 70k!!!

It seems a lot to me as well. I have got about 4K in receipts on a 2000V with about 75K. Rear suspension, front suspension, head gasket, cam belt, tyres, 1 x maf, 1 x lambda, brake disks, part exhaust and annual service.

Sounds like a reliable car,

The thing, is the garage fitting genuine parts or factors.

Genuine parts and no expense spared by the look of the early bills also belts done twice due to timing out. Still too many mafs and lambda sensors

I have loads of big bills with my car too, one of which is 1700

They are not cheap cars to maintain.
