Why do they do this??
I've been suffering from a parasitic drain on my battery which funnily enough coincided with my new stereo and active sub being installed. It has been draining over the space of about a day and on disconnecting my HU it seems to have survived overnight with no drain so it looks like the stereo is the problem.
I've tested both the permanent and switched power feeds and both are permanent (as seems to be the case with most of our cars). I've heard of people hooking the stereo onto the cigar lighter wire but suprise suprise on mine (P1 Twinnie GTV) this also quite happily works without the ignition.
Has anyone found any other wires that are relatively easy to access which actually are switched with the ignition? I want to avoid installing a switch if I can avoid it really.
Things just can't be easy can they!
