Personally, i want my car to have a balance between after market mods and factory items. I do like the Isotta Katienna steering wheel, but i also want remote controls and an airbag, so i think this mod is not only worth it, but what Alfa should have done years ago.
Btw, i think i may have seen you last wednesday. i saw a green gtv pass me on the road that runs beside the river.
I'm the same, I'm all up for aftermarket but I need, not want the controlls lol....as for the airbag I suppose it might come in handy lol.
The Splines are the same, I have been researching this for months...and I have pulled apart my steering and a 147 and a 156 to check things and its the same.
The Steering will fit on the actual steering colum but the 147/156 stalk surrounds are different in size and will not fit. But change them over and ta-DA! it fits
...but then you go to plug in the blinker/wiper and thethe plugs are different so you have to re-wire things....
The clock spring is the round device that connects the airbag/stereo controls/Horn wires to the steering wheel but allows the steering wheel to turn without tangling the wires, it is essential, all theses items are.
The airbag can be swapped, no reprogramming needed.
Honestly guys its a ******* job....I'll try and get what I have together and post it and maybe you guys can get started on gathering everything you need.
Can't wait till it's done, I am hoping to be done this weekend
but that was my thoughts last weekend too before I can into wiring woes...
