Air Bag Warning Light

Just had my Air Bag Warning light pop on , would'nt be too bad normally its just i have it booked in for the mot Friday so was hoping there was a reset some where on the the car that i could push .
I seem to remember when i first got the GTV 2 years i had the same problem i took it back to the garage i got it from and they fixed it with a few minutes and said it can some times be tripped by putting stuff under the front seats . Did'nt think to ask at the time what he did as i was just happy to not have a big bill wekks after buying it. Any help mucho apreciated .

No option apart from going to a specialist, unless you have Alfa Diag software on a laptop I think.

Mine came on yesterday (after some rapid acceleration) for the first time in years, didn't even move the seats which is what normally triggers it off, so something must have touched the cables or the sudden acceleration did it

Not an MOT failure according to my garage, any garage with diagnostic equpiment can reset the airbag light, doesn't have to be an Alfa Dealer/Garage. The problem area is the seat belt pretensioner's, the connection is under the seat, and if you adjust your seat with the car running or the ignition on, then when moving the seat you can disturb the connection thus the airbag ECU flags up the red light.

I have had an airbag fault on my car since I bought it.

I seem to have a faulty connection between the airbag ECU and the diagnostic port as i cannot get alfadiag or Unidiag to connect, let alone reset it.

Most problems are caused by the connector for the pretensioners under the seats.
