GTV Potential Issues

After owning a 147 GTA for a few months, I have now ventured into the unknown territory of the GTV. I am currently looking at a 99 V6 model in meticulous condition. Before handing over the goods I want to know if the GTV has the same "plagued" issues as the GTA. An example would be the Q2 diff upgrade which seems a standard when purchasing a GTA, also the 305mm-330mm warped brakes dilemma.

Not in as much but the same bits can also be done to a GTV.

Diff faliure on the GTV V6 is far rarer than that of a GTA, on a GTA as you say it is a must.

The 305mm brakes are more than sufficient for the GTV too, with no reported major issues.

Of course you could fit the 330's but you will need to make sure the wheels are large enough.

This is the time of year when sales of WD 40 and Silicon spray grease rocket upwards !

Take a look at the " sticky " GTV/Spider buyers Thread, a lot of info there. The most common problems seem to be the aforementioned Clutch Slave Cylinder and the expensive rear suspension bits, don't have to worry too much about the front. The standard Headlights aren't up to much, you need to upgrade the bulbs in these. Seems that people also have trouble with the Heated Rear Screen which can apparently melt the Fuse Box ! Then of course there is the curse of the Window adjustments, hours of fun for everyone !

Other than that things are pretty much what you'd expect except that you can't imagine the fun you have driving one of these and the pleasure you get from just looking at it.

Have you seen the Lincolnshire Lounge ? Don't stay off the radar, come on in and have a look !

Next Event - TBA
