Hopefully someone may be able to come up with a few ideas...
Under acceleration I sometimes get a knocking noise from what sounds to be just above or around the drivers footwell.
Noticed it first in the rain when the front wheels were just on the point of losing traction. When the wheels kind of bounce as they scrabble around for grip it makes quite a loud knocking noise in time with the movement of the wheels.
Anyone any ideas? (Lower arms have just been done six months ago)
check out my thread mate,i just discovered my fog light cheered off and banging in the bumper!!but also found exhaust knock and inner plastic wheels arch knock!! could of been any of these! or it might still be there!!
I had the bumber off this weekend (had to take it off to get it on ramps and change the catalyst) Nothing loose there so can rule that out. Exhaust clamps are very solid everywhere. Grabbed hold of drive shafts and CV joints and there doesnt seem to be any play anywhere that I can tell.
So could be either:
Roll bar bushes
or Roll bar drop links
or Engine mount (Top steady has been changed)
or Shock mount?
