Moaning Clunking when brakes are applied during reversing

I tried searching around but came up fruitless...

When i'm reversing (straight or otherwise) at low speed then depress the brake pedal, i get a mechanical clunking noise from what i think is the front wheels. This has only happened recently.

My first move would to take the caliper apart, clean and re-assemble. but i just wanted to check if anyone has any better thoughts before i get my hands dirty?

Not a GT

It may just be the brake pads moving about. They're meant to be loose in the caliper, so it's a good thing. I get the same noise.

I've noticed this too. Just assumed it was something (caliper, pads) moving about.

It could be the coil bearing on top of the front struts.

Normally you get roughness and clonking whilst turning the steering as well though.

could also be worn track rod ends but u would probably notice them going forward too. worth a look tho but most likely brake pad/caliper
