Time for the breakers?
It's been a while since I posted here, too much spent on clutches and master cyclinders to find the time but I think I've reached the end.
Yesterday I was doing a 3 point turn and it felt like I'd run over something, two very pronounced plinking things from the front end, so much that I got out to look at what I'd run over but there was nothing. The steering felt odd for a bout 10 yards but settled down. Parked up and when I got back in much later there was a slightly odd smell. When I got onto the dual carriageway and opened it up I noticed a big cloud following me and later the AA told me it was gearbox oil.
A garage in Swindon claims the gearbox let go and took out some of the clutch but it was driving fine, I went through all the gears and nothing was wrong, there was no big bang, just leaking oil.
If it's the gearbox I'm done with it, spent easily twice what it's worth over 3 years, just £700 in the last month on new front pads, discs and refurbed calipers.
Is there anywhere near Swindon that specialises in breaking Alfas?
