FAO the "Sun" readers
Oh dear – this thread has been hi-jacked by the “Sun” readers.
Some facts :-
In February the exhaust, including the front pipe, required replacing – cost £400
In April she failed her MOT, I let my heart rule my head, the repairs cost £937.22 AND TOOK THE GARAGE A MONTH. The garage advised that some expensive components would require replacement soon.
After a few more niggling faults I put her up for sale for the cost of the recent repairs – no takers unfortunately.
Recently suffered a major coolant leak in the passenger foot well, selling no longer an option.
Had it not been for the scrappage scheme I would have donated her to an enthusiast with the skills to re-furbish her without incurring crippling garage labour costs. (I could have negotiated a good deal on a new car without a trade in).
The £2900 I received from the Hyundai I could not afford to ignore, the purpose of the post was to see if I could make contact with a local GTV owner who might like the unused spare wheel (and any other parts that could safely be removed).
I’ve owned the GTV since nearly new, she has been part of my life for over 10 years. Some of the comments posted here are particularly mean spirited and indicate an unpleasantness of character I would not normally associate with an “Alfa” owner.
