Driveshaft Fecked

Well is doesn't rain but it bloody pours.

Picked my car up from AutoLusso yesterday after have the window sorted and it made a nasty metallic scraping noise all the way home. Brake disc shield I thought.

So took the drivers wheel off tonight fiddled with the shield and noticed a lot of grease everywhere. then I saw this;

Could the driveshaft be damaged? no idea how long its been like this but there is still a bit off grease inside. I could hear a slight clicking when i drove it with the window down.

I am so f**cking sick off this car at the minute.

The driveshaft joint may or may not be damaged.
To check, you need to drive car in a tight circle slowly and listen for clicking sound from driveshaft. You will hear it if the joint is badly worn. To trial RH shaft, make a tight circle left and vice-versa for other side. If you cannot hear the joint clicking, I'd go for just replacing gaiter.
I don't know another way of testing, perhaps somebody else does?
In most cases a replacement gaiter is all thats required. Good luck

Look on the brightside, the gaiter is on the easy end, just replace it and see how it goes, if it gets really noisy, then get a new driveshaft but it probably wont if you have just noticed it.
