I'm in the Oldham area, see some issues below, are you a AEE?
Having a nightmare, motor on the new regulator kept tripping out the fuse under the steer wheel compartement, meaning the the battery had to be disconnected, otherwise the motor for the regulator would constantly stay on. The guy had enough of it and is coming back to finish tomorrow evening.
Whilst driving home I noticed in traffic the engine had heated ridiculously, near the 130 degrees
I pulled over and rang the guy who was fitting the regulator earlier (who's still coming to fix it tomorrow) who said it shouldn't have anything to do with the fuse that kept popping under the steering wheel (?)
short and tail of it was when the recover guy had a look was the fan now has 2 live wires running to it (earthed itself somewhere?) and this is why it didn't work,
Prior to this recovery guy ran a connector from the battery to the fan and this worked when engine into 90 degrees territory on the readout - cleared the fault codes, one was for the fan not working and engine management and niether the engine fault code or fan code came up again. He aldso electrically tested the 60A fuse under the bonnet for the fan and that had no problems (both live and neutral) so said it was a wire fault somewhere between the fuse under the bonnet and the wire to the fan.
I'm not sure where the A & B relays are in the fuse section (there's only appears to be a C relay there, directly under the steering wheel) and the manual says they control the fan - rekon i'm gonna need an auto electrican, alfa friendly if you know of any, or heard of this kind of bother before.
Any help is appreciated
