Door light sensors

My gtv's started draining it's battery flat. The current leak seems to be coming from the circuit with the interior lights, stereo, central locking etc on it. I've also noticed that recently the driver's door won't stay open, as the little bar that holds it seems to have come lose.

I suspect that these two things may be related. How does the sensor for the parking light in the door work? Could the broken bar be leaving this light on, and producing my current drain?

Don't think that the door stay will have anything to do with it.

The usual, ( but not always ) culprit is the Stereo system. Make sure that it is FULLY switched OFF so that not even a clock is showing. Even better remove the fascia plate and see if this cures the problem.

A lot of people have done mods so the stereo supply is ignition switched.

hi eira, do you have a non original stereo. I had a battery drain after putting a new header in and had to rewire to a switched circuit after I found the radio drawing 1/4 Amp switched off!
