Been browsing this forum for what seems ages trying to gain as much knowledge about the GTV and just enjoying reading your posts.
I have a left hand drive GTV 2.0 V6 TB
with 165000km on the clock, full service history bar one major service. It had one timing belt change at 120000km, so its done 45000km since the last belt. However, the last timing belt change was done in 2001 so nearly 8 years on the car.
For the last year the car has been kept in a garage and not driven at all until i did a tuv(mot) last week.
Car failed the tuv on rear brakes so got them replaced and got an oil+filter change.
Is it safe to still drive the car or should i get the belt done ASAP? The car drives just fine but I can't help feeling it going to go snap
at any point, and i dont want this to happen on the autobahn as the damage would be immense.
I know it needs doing
and it will be the next thing on my list to do, only thing is i live in germany and an alfa specialist qouted me
1144euros to do the work. Surely this would be cheaper in england to do?
