V6 Rad. change

just got my new radiator for my GTV, will be fitting it tomorrow...

just wanted to ask quickly if the radiator comes out from the top or if it is lowered down from the bottom?

I've also noticed a lot o Q&A aout radiator changes on the forum so i'll try to take lots of pictures during the change to eventually make a "how to" thread!

Posting here really so i can get updates on the thread as Its a job i need to do on my TS and believe its the same part for both.

I think i've read that the rad comes out from underneath, but ive just scanned the workshop manual and cant find a removal / refitting section so i could be proved wrong.

I am pretty sure its easier to from the top on a GTV.

There are 2 bolts at the front an front of the crossmember and after they are taken out it should lift upwards.

You may also need to remove the aircon radiator from it first though.

Take the fan(s) off the back of the rad when it is out of the car.

i found it easier to remove it from the bottom its a lot less fiddly just put some release oil on the bolts overnight that will help.

its a bugger of a job! i did this on wednesday and took it out from the top. you do need to take the a/c rad off it and remove the fan(s) from the back. you may have to do a fair bit of jiggling to get it out from above though as the bonnet release panels are welded in place and cover over either end of the rad, meaning its far from a straight forward lift-out.

Good luck
