GTV V6 Phase 1 - Fuel Filter Change?!?

The other day when I was looking under the GTV admiring the new powerflex buhes and powedercoated arms, on the drivers side just forward of the rear suspension I noticed what appeared to be a fuel filter, with what appeared to be an in and out fuel line?

Is that what it is? I was persuming the filter would be a more modern in tank jobby integrated into the pump.

If so I will get one on order and do it at the same time as the spark plugs next month?

Car is a 98 V6 Phase 1.

Yes, Phase 1 have a replaceable fuel filter in that location.
Later cars do not.

Hi JR, I made the opposite mistake and bought a filter for my phase 2, which does not have a replaceable filter. It's still gathering dust in the garage, if you want to save a couple of quid it's yours for a fiver plus postage. Shop4parts currently retail for 24.78 including p+p & VAT. I keep meaning to stick it on e-bay or something but it's not the sort of thing that sells well. Do us both a favour, save yourself 15, and I'll stop moaning every time I walk into the garage and see the little fecker.
