Did the boot yesterday afternoon
amazingly it stopped raining for a few hours
I've never been a fan of glued boots, and can only remember them being useful on the first peugot 405 which didn't have a removeable coupling, it was either glue the boot or a new driveshaft.
Anyway it was a very straight forward job the only difficulty was undoing the driveshaft nut which was a 36mm, and my 36mm socket had too thick a wall section to get in the hub centre
A few minutes on the bench grinder solved the problem, but butchered the end of the socket.
I found another driveshaft nut in my collection (MG Maestro ?) with a smaller head and used that on the rebuild.
If it stays dry I'll look at the handbrake today.
BTW, a torn or failed boot is only an MoT failure if its on the outer coupling, the inner can be shot away with no problems.....check the MoT rules.
