Auto Closing drivers electric window when alarm is Armed
I would like to be able to fit an auto closer module to the alarm for the drivers side window, (the passenger side doesn't have an auto function so it won't work). When you are in a tight parking space you can open the window to make getting out easier.
I am unable to get the module working because the power window system is disabled when the key is out of the ignition:
1. The windows on my GTV don't go up and down unless the key is in the ignition.
2. Also if the drivers side is on its way up in auto mode and you take the keys out it stops.
A assume this is the way the car is designed, the second of the 2 points been most irritating!
I have been looking at the wiring diagram for the electric windows, mines a phase 2 GTV.
The control unit for the windows is fed form the ignition switch with 12v supply which enables the power window system.
Can anybody see and issues if this is removed and replaced with a fused permanent live?
The only two issues I can see are:
1. Security Implications, some body could possibly push some thing between the seal and glass to activate the window.
2. The LED lights in the switch pods could run down the battery.
Please tell me what you think.
GTV All The Way!!
