..more Spider probs.. suspect head gasket gone..nooooooo
Just less than 200 miles after a full 72k service with a new radiator, this morning the spider broke down.
Appartenly a warning light came on (looks like a key--engine management?), then the temperature went sky high.
The RAC man said there was no water in the rad, and he suspects the head gasket has gone !
We are not very happy about this, as the car has only done 67k and the Alfa garage said last week that the engine was fine.
After shelling out £1600 last week, as you can imagine we are well pi**ed off that this has happened. Are Alfa's really that unreliable, or has the garage co*ked up....not that they will admit it hey
Anyone had similar experiences ?
I know one night my 156 V6 dumped all the water out the rad, luckerly I noticed in time and stopped, that turned out to be a faulty waterpump.
so the big question is do we sell the Spider and go back to a Ford Cosworth ??
I must admit, I love my 156, and (touch wood) it has been great, and now sports 102,000 on the clock.
Any thoughts ?
Ps Merry xmas to everyone on the Forum.
