Anyone Changed a Variator?
Has anyone changed the variator on their Twin Spark? I ask because having bought all the kit to do a full belt change from E B Spares (including the cam locking tools) I was feeling pretty pleased with my self for avoiding the massive prices that Alfa dealers charge.
Then it came to changing the variator and it appears you need a special tool. All feelings of smugness evaporated immediately and the car had to be put back together without changing the variator. Most annoying because of course it'll all have to come apart again to do the variator if/when it goes (the cars done 50,000 miles).
Has anyone changed the variator, and if so, where did you buy the special tool?
