stolen alfa's

has anyone heared of an alfa being driven away without the use of the coded key ?

i wonder if the "professional thieves" can by pass the ecu/code system ?

Probably. If it's electronic, it can be by-passed somehow by the person with the right knowlege.

The trick is making the car impossible to nick by the vast majority of amateur tea-leaves.

Leaving a strychnine-laced bottle of vodka in your glove box (remember to take it out before you send you car in for servicing) doesn't stop your car being pinched but sort of takes away the pain.

any other tips on security products/anti-theft products.

is the standard alfa coded key/alarm good enough or am i just being paranoid ?

If you are that worried look into a tracking system,

if someone is competent enough to bypass code they'll get past most alarms.

A tracking system even if they nick your car means you get a reasonable chance of getting the car back - even if it does get stolen.
