I put mine in Friday last week, and they phoned me up saying "Failed, although only on offside brake hose which has perished
" "How much
?" "We recommend you fit both front ones, this will be £170 all inclusive
". I decided to just pay for it, i could've saved about £70 doing it myself (with braided hoses all around
) but couldn't be bothered as I've heard horror stories
about unions becoming completely rusted shut.
Collected my GTV now passed it's MOT, and drove to london. When arriving in london the hydraulic fluid warning light
came on, i didn't think that much of it - rather that they might've not bled the brakes properly. So i stopped by a garage to buy a bottle to top it up.
Driving back from london on the sunday the light
came on again - something was obviously wrong. Ended up poring a whole bottle
(0.5l) of hydraulic fluid into the tank over the weekend!
Took it back to the garage on Monday for diagnostics, and it turns out that the rear ones had burst/leaked
due to the new front ones being put in
Thankfully, they agreed to replace
the rear ones out of goodwill
So now i got all new brakehoses fitted and bled all around for about £170
Next up is replacing with with the goodridge braided hoses...
