If Martin's fix did not work, it might just be that the power hood sequencing logic got screwed up because something did'nt hit it's limit switch, or lock properly when you put the hood down last. In which case the red light by the roof switch in the centre console just flashes at you and the hood just sits there very silent with no movement or anything, not even the fairing cover unlocking.
If your Spider is like mine there are two switches concealled behind a plastic cover on the bulkhead just behind the drivers seat.
You can follow the "manual operation" instructions in the handbook. (but beware the switch position in the book is shown for a LH drive car, and can be confusing at first if yours is RH drive)
Basically you unlock the cover via one switch, and maually lift the metal cover. Then manually pull the hood out, and over. Manoeuvre the back of the hood clear and lower the cover back down, then use the switch to engage the lock. Use the other switch to finally pull down and lock the hood at the back. -Best look at the book for the detail.
Doing the manual operation resets the power hood logic, such that next time all should work okay via the normal powered selection.
Sounds complicated, but once you have done it ten times or so you get used to it. (or the car fills up when it rains)
Hopefully you have already got it sorted anyway without resorting to the above.
