Hi Alfisti peeps.
Took the wee GTv for a longer spin tonight (i know I shouldn't but the car wanted to)
Didn't realise how quick it was, even with a flat spot (Just waiting for a MAF from Ja5on to try and fix it)
Had to take the Lightning on the same route to check the acceleration (should be a lot quicker without the flat spot) 5.4 V8 with a supercharger was no contest but the GTv felt lovely to drive. Gotta seriously get it on the road fully for some fun whilst the sun is shining
Jobs done so far:
De mossed using the pressure washer. Quick clay bar and coat of Fercela polish on the outside. Good clean on the inside.
New battery fitted and all fluids checked and she fired up on the first turn of the key.
1st job was getting all the lights to work and after many hours reading a tech manual I got on CD sussed out that the I64 relay was in the wrong holder D'oh!!
Stripped out a Nokia car kit as well (anyone wants it let me know)
Today I noticed that the air filter housing had a bolt missing facing the front of the car and that whoever had done the service on it had sheared a bolt on the housing (I sheared another one as well). They had also trapped a cable in there as well so it must have had air flowing straight into the MAF (maybe that is why its gubbed? any thoughts?)
The rad fan cut in after a run at over 90 so I recon that I need a stat and a new rad. Who are the good suppliers? (Preferably up here in Scotland if pos)
I'm thinking of taking it for an MOT to see what it fails on so that I can have a plan of action.
Deffo needs a windscreen as this one is cracked. Probably just an Autoglass job and take the hit on the cost.
Just remembered that the car doesn't lock? Any ideas? You turn the key in the lock and it looks like it locks and then the doors unlock again. Same happens when you use the remote for the alarm. I'll strip the door cards off as well.
Rodman has an exhaust from the 3.0 and the drawings from the manual look the same cat back. But I'll need to do more digging for part numbers for comparison.
Really looking forward to getting this wee toerag on the road. Never had an Alfa and even though its a wee squib at the moment I'm impressed in how it drives. And I've had around 18 cars in the last 9 years.....
