Alfa overheating since hot weather - help
first post on here having only owned my gtv for about a month!
Have already usedthis forum to sort a few niggles with the car but now have one I need a bit of advice on!
Basically, weekend before last, since the hot weather came, my car (2000 model 2.0 ts) has been overheating (getting over 90+).
This gets worse when travlling at speed ie 50-70. Previously the gauge has sat on or under 90
if I put the heater on the temp recovers to 90 or under again.
Water was a little low so I topped it up but this made no difference.
Have done a bit of investigating and found my heat shield on the manifold is missing - could this be having the effct of heating and already hot radiator and causing the overheatng?
Also a large coolant pipe and the bottom of the engine appears to have, or have had, a small leak where the clip is. Again any ideas if this would cause the symptoms I am getting?
Any ideas would be greatly recieved before I start throwing money at it!
ps sorry for any bad typing, using iPhone as site is blocked at work!
