Thanks
I noticed water in the boot from a leaky lock and cover. It's causing a damp stink in the boot. Going to reseat badge/lock and seal it up

Spider boot badge

Great article KFP. About 45 minutes is correct. It's a bit fiddly refitting the new badge with the tension spring but otherwise straightfoward. My thanks to you, Rob

Just to say a big thanks to KFP for his excellent guide. I finally got around to changing my boot badge this afternoon. what a difference, shame they are not metal like the originals but still miles better than the old one. No scraped fingers, just got to find out why the boot release from the glove box doesn't work, all wires connected so either solenoid or something else.

Hi

Done everything on my spider but struggling to get the new badge to lock in place. The clip won't budge and feels like it will snap with any more force. The new badge is jus resting in place but is obviously loose and just pushes back out + the key cant be used to open the boot so help needed.

Thanks
Matt

swapped out old for new !

Many thanks Kingfupanda,

Did my 98 Spider front and rear badge this arvo, as you guys say, "easy peasy".

while I was at it I recoated the grill with PlastiDip, all looking like new again now .

Hardest part or should I say the most fiddly bit, was getting the spring in place correctly

Thanks this forum is the best !

cheers

Can someone point me in the right direction to buy front and rear badges at the best price. Cant access ebay on the work system. Is that the cheapest? Are they all the same quality?
Thanks in advance.

You really don't need one. Remove the grill complete by undoing the 3 screws from the rear. It should ask be quite obvious from there.
