Symonh,im seriously considering getting a 20VT instead of my TS.Did you have any reliability issues, build quality issues, huge bills etc with yours? Also, how often did you find people kept up with it?Would you recommend it?Thanks fella
Nothing much kept up with it TBH.
I did get overtaken by a new BMW M3, but at the time I wasn't really trying. If you are pushing on not much will keep up with you.
Many modern cars fell victim to mine including an Alfa Brera 3.2, a RX8 Mazda, a Civic Type R, and a Scooby Turbo.
Reliablity wise it was very good. It did let me down once when the throttle cable snapped, but that was my fault for not changing it when the pedal started feeling rough.
It wasn't cheap to maintain. I had to pay for a new clutch and cambelt which cost around £1000 all in. Although if you buy a car that has had those done then you won't have to worry for a while.
Over on FCCUK there are usually a few well looked after ones for sale.
I would certainly recoomend one, although you need to get a good one. A bad one will be a money pit although as a rule they are pretty reliable if left fairly stock.
The cheap £1000 cars on ebay tend to be the ones that need cambelts, clutches or both. You are better off spending more on a car that has had the expensive bits done.
