GTV V6 performance dip

Hi all,

I've waited a while to post this particular thread to make sure i wasnt imagining things..

My GTV V6 has felt a little under par for the past couple of weeks. It certainly doesnt seem to have the perky performance it had for the previous 5 months I've had it. Nothing notable happened a couple of weeks ago though, only thing I can think of is that I was running low on petrol and the tank went well into reserve before I got to a shell.

Basically, There doesnt seem to be the same power at the 2000revs to 3500revs range as i have been used to. above 3500revs seems to be ok, but its just duller between 2000 and 3500... 'strangled' acceleration similar to that of having the car packed with people.

I've looked after the car well, I've always used selenia racing oil - practically weekly top-ups, filled with shell v-power fuel. no other problems..

i was thinking I'd give it an oil change and air filter change anyway, but it definitely seems to be a distinct issue for the performance to have dipped so noticeably. anyone got any ideas?

hi, could be the maf, disconnect it and try just to see if there is any difference, then clean it (there are some post that show how to do it), if the problem continue the change it for a new one, be sure that is bosch and the correct one for your model.

could also be just the warm weather. the muggy sticky hot air always makes cars run crap, then at night when it cools they start breathing fire once again haha

Sounds very uch like an air leak. Seems to be apretty common problem. Check other threads.
