Hello Alfa Nutters
I've just purchased a squadra chip and BMC replacement filter for my GTV, to make life a bit more interesting. All brought from the online shop.
Has anyone else carried out similar mods??
The chips have good reviews, and are very reasonably priced.
I hope to recieve it in the next week, so I'll keep you all posted
No problem my car is pre98 so its just the replacement chip. No reprogramming needed.
Does yours perform better since the mods??
I can't wait to get it all installed and test it to the max wink
I looked at the Autodelta chip, before buying the squdra chip. The autodelta gives only 8 bhp more power with an increased rev limit of 7500.
Whereas the squdra gives 13 bhp more retaining the standard rev limit.
More importantly the squdra chip gives 20Nm extra of torque - This is just as important as bhp, as this will make the car accelerate quicker.
Plus the squdra chip is cheaper than autodelta's.
Have a read of the reviews on the squdra web-site and see what you think.
The Squadra chip will only allow you to use super U. Switching back to Normal U may result in knock causing damage to the engine. Although the ECU detects knock and alters the timing damage has already been done.
The Autodelta chip has been mapped on a normal Unleaded.
I wouldn't also get to hung up on exact figures. At the end of the day you are looking for a system that improves preformance and gives the car better overall response. I reckon both systems will do the job. Jano at Audodelta also has maps for Super U that will give you more power.
My 1.8 TS GTV (11-'98) has been 'serial programmed' by Squadra Tuning, and as I must say, it's wonderfull. Offcourse everything is increased (torque and Bhp) the driveability is much better. The fuel consumption is improved, but it's neccesary to refill with RON98 fuel.
For the past 2 weeks I've been wearing a grin from ear to ear, cos I've finally fitted my Squdra chip and autodelta filter.
WOW what a difference - This is how the car should feel from the factory.
The torque is much improved, and this can be felt as you drive the car up through the gears, as higher speeds are reached far quicker.
The hesitation that the car used to show has now gone and it feels alot smoother, so all in all i'm well chufft, and in total it only cost me 200 quid.
Anyway I'm off for another Blast. CU
hi guys. i have a 2000 2.0 ts. just changed the air filter to a novitec induction kit. since doing this the car wants to stall at idle or when just taking the car out of gear. the induction kit wasn't the easiest to fit coz the instructions are in german. has anyone else had any grief with this kit? or their gtv trying to stall?
anyone know of any good exhausts too?
I just want to take this opportunitity to appreciate the Squadra Chip - Stephan.
He sell me a chip to comply with my new replace C&S cams. However, after I install the cams and Chip. The low idle rpm happens which make the car not stable at the idle and even off ignition when I brake hard. Afterwards, Stephan revised a chip for me with no additional cost. Now, the chip and the cam become real partners. The torque and power increased much. The chip is easy to install and Stephan is nice, he will explain all the problem in short. This is real good if you buy things online. Try and you will not disappointing.
